Blur an Image Without Uploading It Anywhere

The thing you're censoring is the reason you'd rather not upload the photo. So don't.

There is an awkwardness at the centre of most online censoring tools: to hide the sensitive part of an image, you first send the whole uncensored image to someone else's server. Whatever the privacy policy says, the original has now been somewhere you do not control, complete with the thing you were trying to hide.

What in-browser actually means

This tool loads your image into a canvas element inside the page and does the blurring with your own device's graphics. No network request carries the image. You can verify it the honest way: open your browser's network tab, edit a photo, and watch for an upload that never happens. Or disconnect your WiFi after the page loads and keep working.

What that gets you

Nothing to retain, nothing to leak in a breach, no copy sitting in a processing queue, no question about how long it is kept. For a photo of someone else's face, a screenshot of an account, or a document you are redacting, that is the meaningful difference between two otherwise identical tools.

The limits, honestly

Very large images are limited by your device's memory rather than by a server's, so a huge panorama may be slow on an old phone. And the output is a PNG, which is lossless and therefore not small β€” run it through the compressor afterwards if you need a lighter file.
